James T. Hay, M.D.

Founded NCFMG in 1978 and is a past-president of the California Medical Association.

Dr. James T. Hay has practiced Family Medicine since 1978. He received his undergraduate degree from Duke University and his M.D. from Jefferson Medical College in Pennsylvania. His residency was at the Naval Hospital, Camp Pendleton. He is board certified and a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Hay is a member of many professional organizations, including the San Diego County Medical Society, and the California Academy of Family Practice. He was president of the California Medical Association. He has received the AMA Physicians Recognition Award every year since 1977. He is active in local and state political action and enjoys running, travel and great restaurants. Dr. Hay and his wife, Tricia, have two grown children and live in Del Mar.
